trying to fix a broken theme

You should’ve done lip-sync, Jimmy Fallon. Just saying.

Nicki Minaj kills it.
Just a quick heads up: I will be taking the blog offline tomorrow soon. The database really needs to be cleaned up and I’ll try to do a reboot instead. I’ve also had it with K2 and spending so much time on not making it look like K2 so I’ll be testing different themes in the next couple of weeks. See you on the other side!

I just received another request regarding this, originally posted to my Tumblr. Somehow, some people appear to be under the impression that Dr. House (or Hugh Laurie) really was featured in BUTT Magazine [won't link because it's NSFW. And because the shade of pink on the online version differs from that of the print version, which is the one I based my spoof on].
Please allow me clarify: It never happened.
Here is what really happened: I was re-watching the season 6 opener of House, “Broken”, for the umpteenth time. Why? Because Hugh Laurie was incredible in it (please, please, please let him have the Emmy Award for this tomorrow night), Franka Potente is a wonderful guest star (in fact all the guest starts in this particular double-feature were amazing), the set design of Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital was formidable, and the writing was pretty much the best you will ever see on television. The editing wasn’t so bad, either. In fact, the opening montage to Radiohead’s “No Surprises” was so good that it made me wonder if maybe it even was written, filmed and edited with that particular song in mind.
The video is flipped (the YouTube comments explain why) and the person who kindly posted it kind of left out the most important bit at the end – when House opens his eyes and just stares into the camera. But maybe you get what I meant about the clip and you might have recognized the image by now, too. I just thought that House was kind of really beautiful when he let his vulnerability show and so I took a couple of screenshots. Because I was bored or because I don’t really have a life I started playing around with the pictures in iPhone apps and Photoshop and that’s when the idea for the BUTT Magazine spoof hit me.
So, to sum things up, it’s meta-fiction and no, there are no further images or an article I could post here. And dear Fox and BUTT Magazine, please don’t sue me. I love you both and also: I have nothing. But if you wanted to make my dreams come true the purported crossover happen: Site stats say you definitely have a market out there.

The best part about this performance was how uncomfortable it made Cheryl Cole. :D
So I started this “Sunday music” thing on Facebook a while ago: each Sunday I would post a song that I had been listening to that morning. Somehow, Facebook doesn’t seem like the right place to do that anymore so I’m just going to post it here instead.
This week it’s Arcade Fire and David Bowie performing “Wake Up” at Fashion Rocks, which coincidentally was also the first EP that I ever bought on iTunes.
I must be the only person to not get into “The Suburbs” – I think it’s 80% boring and 20% ok (pretty album artwork, though). There’s always one! Then again, I really, really liked ‘Neon Bible’ and seems like people generally didn’t like that one very much. Just goes to prove how special I really am.
Oh and Bowie = God, obvs.
