There are some more pictures over here, I don’t have the time to get them Flickr-ready right now. That place scares me, it’s just way too much pressure, LOL. At least on Photoshop Express I can feel free to upload this blurry picture of what I affectionately call the “Clea DuVall-scowl”.

I just found this and almost fainted towards the end of the clip, because I was not aware of the fact that it contains spoilers for Season 9 of CSI, so watch at your own risk!
Let me just say that I have very mixed feelings about the approaching season: On the one hand, I’m overjoyed, on the other hand this will be William Petersen’s last season on the show, and the prospect of a life without Gil Grissom fills me with a hitherto unknown sense of dread.

Kaki King’s latest blog entry reminded me of yet another of those entries that I started writing in my head, but then never actually put to… the keyboard. I originally wanted to write about her in late January because I was going to see her gig at the Fiffi bar. I even uploaded the flyer. But then I decided to go on a well-needed getaway to Northern Germany and Denmark (which I never blogged about either) during the Cologne Carnival which sadly also meant not seeing her.
Well, it’s now been three weeks since I wrote the first paragraph, and this entry has been sitting in my drafts folder ever since. What I was trying to say was:
Luckily, I did get a second chance to see Kaki, because she’ll be playing at Cologne’s Studio 672 tomorrow night, yay.
And here are some links that highlight her exceptional talent:
The music video for Pull Me Out Alive, which I was obsessed with for a long time – I had it on my iPhone and watched it over and over again. According to the info box, “[it] was made without film cameras — it consists of over 5,000 still photographs shot on Nikon D30s. There are no special effects; all of the light trails were created by hand, with up to eight individual “light animators” flashing LEDs and flashlights on and off over a long (8 second) shot exposure.” Fantastic!
Then there are a couple of great live performances, most notably
Playing with Pink Noise live on Jools Holland
and
LoveStoned (Justin Timberlake cover version) live at Triple J.
Note how she owned that song, and the readers of Spinner magazine agree.
These are not my words, but those of Fran Lebowitz. According to this quote, I’m not worth a whole lot for I am still in that terrible intermittent stage of growing out a short haircut with bangs. Samantha Ronson (pictured right), however, just got a whole lot better:

And while noone really needs my praise, there is one blogger who is so cutting edge that he manages to update his blog multiple times a day, even though he must have a gazillion other things to do. Sounds like sarcasm, but I really do admire this kind of dedication. Mr. Kanye West himself just knighted Samantha Ronson “fresh kid”. He also has five (!) pages of pictures. With the words of the Internet: WTF? Here’s another good one. I guess I’m finally starting to see it, but I still haven’t heard any of her stuff. Apparently she’s DJing at the Roxy in Los Angeles tonight, if you’re in the area.

I took this earlier today. Not only did the guy not have any qualms about flaunting the lady on his wallpaper, he also visited pr0n sites and downloaded stuff from Rapidshare while I was rather innocently sipping my Chai Latte with soy milk. My next mobile phone will hopefully come with WLAN and an email client so I can tattle people like him right away
I’m in love with this video – in an ideal world, it would be up for a Video Music Award. On a sidenote, I’m sorry I haven’t been replying to emails and messages, I have had a really mad week and have got to run now, but will definitely get back to everyone tonight or this weekend. Later!
IAMX performs “Spit It Out” live in Williamsburg (NYC), gets shut down by Cops (The Village Voice)
I saw IAMX live last year and it was an extremely hypnotic, almost ecstatic show. Chris Corner’s dark intensity transcends well in the video above – even in broad-ish daylight. On a sidenote, I have been to that exact Williamsburg corner where the video was shot. And I was just thinking today that I would gladly give up everything here just to live in a shabby broom closet in Brooklyn!
Also, props to Russell Brand for ripping on the Jonas Brothers all night. Those little promise ring-wearing shits deserved it.
