The Cool Is Coming!

“The Cool” by Lupe Fiasco will be out December 14. Thanks for the sweet birthday gift, Lupe ;)

Heh.

This time last year, I was having a great time. This time around, not so much. My nose still hurts, people are still smoking like there’s no tomorrow, and the godawful asthma has been rearing its ugly head again, for the first time since getting surgery. I hope it’s just a fluke. Also, and this will sound really lame, I’m having trouble accepting my new nose. I do like the shape of it, and how it seems to fit into my face really well (most of the people I work with didn’t even notice the change) but to me the change is so drastic that I feel like the rest of me doesn’t fit anymore. I told you it would sound stupid. I was going through my wardrobe the other day and often caught myself thinking along the lines of, “Ok, that sweater definitely does not go with the new nose.” I’ve also been known to wear Converse Chucks all year around, now I think they look really stupid with my newly perceived self. Is this normal? Anyone? I’ve always been comfortable with who I am, and I feel like this is really throwing me off.

So in light of my recent problems (which will pass, I am quite sure) please allow me this little piece of immaturity that I bought at IKEA today:

Juleskum from IKEA
I know, I know – it’s just Swedish for Christmas marshmallows, but I got a bit of a kick out of seeing my name on the pack. I’m weird like that ;)

Edited to add: I just ate the whole bag and am now feeling quite sick. I’d still buy it again though!

I Got Stripes

I’ve been using my trustly little Canon Ixus II for… ooh, I don’t know, probably three and half years, but I got a new camera last week and the Ixus stopped working, just like that! I’m almost feeling guilty now, I got the new camera because the Ixus had some limitations in terms of zoom and shutter speed, but I loved that little design masterpiece and definitely was not going to chuck it. The funny thing is that it didn’t stop working altogether – it’s gone all artsy on me and now transforms objects into lines and colours that aren’t exactly there in the first place.

This would be my closet (not blue, but white in reality):

And this my carpet (light blue/greyish):

You wouldn’t believe the fun I’m having with my Ixus. Well, reading this blog might give you an idea about how nerdy I am, so maybe you do. I hope it’ll continue working like that!

And talking about nerdy stuff, I’ve added some more spam precautions, so please let me know if you’re having trouble with the website. Thanks in advance!
